into the eye and onto the retina, providing clearer vision than

cornea; with farsighted people, a steeper cornea is desired. Also,
excimer lasers can correct astigmatism, by smoothing an irregular
cornea into a more normal shape.
Blade Surgery - The Lasik laser eye procedure starts with the surgeon
using a surgical blade and slicing around the outside of the
cornea in a circular form. The flap made is then pulled back and the
exposed cornea is treated with a low powered laser. The laser is
used to remove a portion of the tissue. This process restructures
the cornea and allows for the light captured by the eye to be more
refocused onto the retina. This laser eye treatment allows for the
patient’s eyesight to improve significantly. The Lasik laser eye
treatment is for those patients whose vision requires the correction
of more difficult refractive corrections.
